Augustus Gelatery Werribee is Ciska Momesso’s happy place.
Ciska was a stay-at-home mum before she and her husband decided to snap up the Watton Street gelatery, one of a franchise of 12 stores across Victoria, late last year.
Augustus Gelatery offers artisan gelato, served by an army of insatiably discerning in-house taste testers – satisfying everyone’s childhood fantasies of gluttony and excess in the simplest and most satisfying form.
“Now that all my children are finally in school, my husband and I thought it was a good time for me to re-enter the workforce,” Ciska says. “There’s nothing better than seeing the smile on kids’ faces when they enter the shop and look at all the flavours we have on offer and then excitedly tell their parents while jumping up and down, ‘I want this one’.”
Ciska and the store manager, Carol, work together to ensure customers enjoy the Augustus experience.
“We currently employ 20 people who all live locally and love what they do as much as us,” she says.
“They form a very important part of the business and their enthusiasm and friendliness shines out for everyone to see.
“Augustus is a happy place with cool music, a great vibe and ample seating.
“A funky environment where people of all ages can meet up to enjoy our beautiful products.”
In the coming weeks Augustus Gelatery will introduce some exciting new flavours, along with ice-cream cakes ideal for kids birthday parties.
