Complete transformation: 49 Strathmore Crescent, Hoppers Crossing 3029

A complete makeover has transformed this house into a sophisticated abode with strong design elements – totally different to what kerbside looks suggest.

Entry is to a small foyer with glossy tiles and a stacked-stone wall on one side. To the right, great for more formal entertaining, is a dining room which has a trio of built-in cupboards adding both practicality and panache. At one end, double doors slide back to reveal a clever fitted study nook that tucks under the stairs.

To the right of the foyer, two steps head down to a lounge room where the stacked-stone wall is also on show. The room is anchored by Tasmanian oak floorboards that continue around a corner and up two steps to a rumpus area – this, in turn, links with the skylit kitchen and casual meals zone.

Sleek and well laid out, the kitchen has a stone waterfall bench, pearl-grey soft-close cabinetry including two french-door pantries, glass splashbacks, and dishwasher, 750mm gas cooktop and 900mm wall oven each with Westinghouse tag.

Along a tiled hallway from the meals area are two grey-carpeted bedrooms, each with built-in robe, ceiling fan and split-system. Sharing the hallway are the laundry with great storage (a feature throughout), and a fully tiled bathroom with a contemporary tub and stone-topped vanity unit.

Grey-carpeted stairs rise to the air-conditioned main bedroom suite occupying the entire floor. There’s a large fitted dressing room, as well as a lovely
en suite with contemporary tub, stone-topped vanity with dual basins, and a double shower.

The meals area opens to a gabled pergola above sealed aggregate that runs down the side from front gates that allow boat entry. Under the pergola are a sink and timber seating with two inset ice troughs.

The back lawn is rimmed with stacked-stone seats and raised garden beds, and a three-car garage has a kitchenette with Blanco underbench oven.

In a convenience-central location, this beautifully made over place is a winner on all levels.
