SANCTUARY Lakes golfers gathering on the green before tee-off got an extra dose of inspiration last week.
As if the boys from the Mambourin choir needed to be any more inspirational, they belted out Queen’s 1977 power ballad We Are The Champions to the 100-strong crowd at the club’s annual charity golf day.
The event, which raises money for western suburbs disability employment and training service Mambourin, is organised by John and Jeanne Burbidge and has raised $100,000 in the past six years.
“One of the major spin-offs from the event is that Sanctuary Lakes Resort Services Limited employs one of the Mambourin gardening teams for gardening maintenance and recently a member of the team has joined the Sanctuary Lakes resort maintenance team as a permanent employee,” Mr Burbidge said.
