Duo sought in attempted break-in

Police are looking for two men who tried to break into a house on Rona Road, Point Cook. The men were seen trying to force their way into the house on the afternoon of March 8. One of the men was described as about 179 centimetres, the other about 182 centimetres, with a solid build and short dark hair. Both were said to be in their mid-20s. Thieves flood, ransack house

Thieves have flooded and ransacked a house broken into between March 8 and 12 in Clover Lane, Wyndham Vale. Police said offenders blocked a bathroom sink, flooding the house. Two televisions, a microwave and a surround sound system were taken.

Increase to income support

More than 18,000 Wyndham residents will benefit from an increase to income support payments. The federal government last week introduced an income support bonus, which will be paid in instalments in March and September each year. Singles will receive an extra $210 a year; couples will get $350.

Living at home becomes easier

Elderly Wyndham residents, young people with disabilities and their carers will benefit from a $33.4 million boost to home and community care services, helping them to live independently at home. Wyndham services will share in $442,500 from federal and state governments.
