The Western Bulldogs’ Daughters of the West program is back in Wyndham and will again be held in person after years of COVID disruptions.
The free program aims to provide women of all ages with a supportive environment to learn more about their health, take control of their own wellbeing and connect with members of the community.
Western bulldogs general manager community and government relations Kashif Bouns said the group was committed to providing a judgment free environment where women of all cultures and abilities can come together to get active.
“Daughters of the West gives women of all ages the opportunity to come together in a safe and supportive environment, where they can learn about all aspects of physical and mental health and build social connectivity,” he said.
The 10-week program runs annually but was held online last year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The two hour sessions will be held at Eagle Stadium from 11.30am to 1.30pm and an evening session will be held from 6-8pm.
Each class will consist of a health educational component featuring guest speakers who cover a range of topics from nutrition to gender equity, and a physical activity session hosted by a local health expert.
“We’ve been able to help thousands of women over the years on their health and wellbeing journeys. It means so much to us here at the Bulldogs to be able to play that role in people’s lives,” Mr Bouns said.
