Wyndham council will offer free training sessions for volunteers and community groups in the municipality.
The free Winter Community Training calendar has been released and includes various training and volunteer sessions.
“Many community members have stepped up during the pandemic and started community projects or groups to actively support their communities,” Mayor Peter Maynard said.
“The pandemic has activated our volunteer community and really prompted our residents to get involved and do something positive to help others in our community.”
“Make the most of the colder months by learning more about volunteering, upskilling and broadening your knowledge. Wyndham City offers free training to volunteers and community groups in Wyndham – so what are you waiting for,” Cr Maynard said.
Training sessions are designed to encourage discussion and explore particular topics and will be hosted by a trainer with background expertise.
An example of training sessions include, event planning, grants information session, social media and the law and volunteer safety, risk and insurance.
Training sessions are free and open to residents who live, work or volunteer in Wyndham.
