The Western Region Football League (WRFL) has advised that all trainers will be required to re-register with the league annually, before they can officiate at games during next year’s season.
Registrations for trainers will open on January 17, 2022.
To register, apart from completing a 2022 Trainer registration form, trainers will have to provide a copy of their emergency response coordinator (ERC) accreditation or a level 1 sports trainer certificate; a copy of their first aid accreditation (level 2 first aid HLTAID011); a valid CPR certificate; evidence of a Working with Children’s Check (a voluntary card is accepted); a copy of their COVID-19 infection control training certificate; and a coloured headshot photo of themselves in JPEG format.
The documents must expire after April 3, 2022, and must be emailed to Jessie Chester, at j.chester@wrfl.asn.au.
Following WRFL approval of registration, trainers will be issued with a trainer’s card valid for the 2022 season, which they will need to carry at all times on a game day.
Trainers will be able to choose either a mobile version or a hard copy trainers’ card.
The WRFL website has advised that it will take at least 24 hours for registrations to be processed, and up to 72 hours during peak times.
If you are a WRFL trainer and you haven’t completed an ERC course to date, then you will need to do so order to become an eligible trainer for the upcoming season and beyond.
A current first aid level 2 certificate must be provided during enrolment for the ERC.
