Lunar fun at Point Cook pop-up

A Kids Lunar Fun Day will be held in Point Cook on Saturday, February 20.

The day, to be hosted by the Point Cook Pop Up Park and 8SENSES – a multicultural education business organised by Point Cook resident Phebe Yeo – will run from 3pm to 8pm.

Ms Yeo said the free fun day would feature performances, games, activities for children, lantern-making sessions and singing.

“Kids and families will be dancing and exercising together with people who are very passionate about cultural dance and very experienced professionals who have been providing dance classes and multi-sports activities in the community,” she said.

“There will be cultural presentations with games and participation from families, there will be kids lion dances and a cultural parade by some very brave kids who are doing this for the first time in public.”

Performers will include cultural dancers Mel Kew and Rosie Xu, DWM Studios and Rachana Natyalaya from the School of Indian Classical, Folk and Bollywood Dancing.

The lion dance will start at 3pm and 4pm at the Point Cook Town Centre near the Pop Up Park.

More activities, organised by Ready Steady Go, will be located at the open space basketball court from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.

Free entry to the event is only permitted by pre-registration at https://fb.me/e/8gZR76NEV due to COVID-19 safety measures and contact tracing requirements. There are limited places for entry to the Pop Up Park where the performances are located.
