More than 620 of patients diagnosed with the virus have travelled overseas, 313 people came in contact with someone who already had the illness and 57 cases were acquired in Australia, from an unknown source.
The DHHS follows up and monitors all people who have had close contact with patients who have been diagnosed with Covid-19. Anyone who has been in close contact with a coronavirus patient must self-isolate for 14 days.
Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton said everyone needed to practice social distancing.
