Beauty of nature in art

Tarneit illustrator Jessica Jane says she enjoys showcasing the beauty of Australian flora and fauna in her art.
Jane will be among the exhibitors at the upcoming Williams Landing Makers’ Market, which will feature handmade art, fashion, design and food-based products.
“I usually have to travel long distances for artist markets, so it’s a nice change to be bringing this trend to the western suburbs,” Jane said.
Jane said said she loved seeing people’s reactions to her art.
“Creating work that you love and sharing it with others is an amazing feeling,” she said.
“My favourite moment is being face-to-face with my audience at markets and seeing how excited people get when they see my work.”
Jane said she aimed to create awareness and appreciation of Australia’s “unique and wonderful endangered wildlife” through art.
Until June, she is donating 10 per cent of sales of Australian-themed products from her website (https://www.jessicajaneillustration.com/shop) to the WIRES wildlife rescue organisation.
“I had already been planning to donate to a wildlife organisation at some point and when the bushfires hit I wanted to do my part to help,” she said.
“My donations are exclusive to my online store, but in celebration of the first Williams Landing Market of the year I will be donating part of sales from the day to WIRES.”
Jane will also be teaching children and adults’ illustration workshops at the Saltwater Art Studio in Point Cook from next month.
The Williams Landing Makers’ Market will take place from 10am – 3pm on Saturday, February 29, Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, April 26, at Williams Landing Shopping Centre.
