Diwali lights up city

Thousands of residents across Wyndham are set to celebrate the festival of Diwali this month. Diwali, which is traditionally celebrated from October to November by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists, is also known as the Festival of Lights.

There will be several Diwali events held across Wyndham, including:

Wydham’s 3rd Diwali Bazaar, hosted by The Indian Bazaar, will be held at the Italian Sports Club of Werribee on October 19 from 10am-5pm, featuring shopping stalls, performances, food trucks and more.

The 6th Diwali Ki Ram Ram 2019, hosted by Entertainment World 4U and GROCER-EEZ, will be held at 428 Old Geelong Road, Hoppers Crossing on October 26 from 4-10pm. The free event will include a lamp lighting ceremony, games, Bollywood trivia and a Pani Puri competition.

The Chotti (Mini) Diwali Bazaar will be held October 26 from 11am to 4pm, supported by Melbourne Expo and Brands and Biz. The event will be held at the Point Cook Community Centre, contact brandsandbiz@gmail.com for details.

Stockland Diwali 2019 will be held in the Point Cook Town Centre on October 26, from 11am to 3pm. To be held in the Main Square, the day will feature cultural performances, dancing, a traditional dress fashion show.

Wyndham Diwali Mela 2019, also known as the Victorian Multicultural Festival of Lights, on Saturday November 9 from noon at Presidents Park. The free event. Tickets: http://www.wyndhamdiwali.org.au

ABCD Bollywood Dance School, which was a Wyndham Business Award finalist this year, will present its first annual concert on November 3 at the Encore Events Centre in Hoppers Crossing. Shwetra Pandya is director of the school and Zannie Bhatt is her business partner.
