Williams Landing house fire

UPDATE: Police are investigating a house fire which occurred in Williams Landing this morning, after around 50 cannabis plants were discovered in the building.
MFB and CFA crews were alerted to the incident on Shepherd Street following several Triple Zero calls just after 4am this morning.
Approximately 30 firefighters responded and arrived to find the second-storey of the house alight.
Firefighters conducted a search of the house and confirmed it was unoccupied.
Firefighting appliances attacked the flames from above while crews worked together to bring the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes.
Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the house fire, in which the home’s top storey was completely destroyed.
Investigators have located a hydroponic set-up in the house with approximately 50 cannabis plants growing.
Police said they were conducting an investigation, in an to attempt to identify the occupants of the house.
No-one was injured in the fire and the exact cause of the blaze is still to be determined.
