Youths linked to three robberies

By Alesha Capone

A 20-year-old man was kicked in the face during a robbery in Wyndham last week.

The incident was one of three robberies within an hour on Monday, November 27.

Police said three males approached the 20-year-old victim and demanded his belongings about 10.30pm in Whistler Crescent, Point Cook. One of the males kicked the victim in the face, before the trio fled the scene.

About 20 minutes later, a 45-year-old man walking along the Federation Trail in Hoppers Crossing was approached by three males who demanded his belongings.

The man was knocked to the ground and kicked by the offenders before they ran away empty-handed.

Police said the third robbery occurred about 11.15pm on Palmers Road in Williams Landing.

Three males approached a man, aged in his 40s, and demanded his belongings.

After the victim handed over a mobile phone the three males fled the scene in a dark-coloured hatchback car that had been waiting nearby.

Police believe the three robberies could be linked. In all three incidents, the offenders were described as young African males.

Police said it was not known whether the three robberies were linked to an aggravated home invasion on November 17 in Wyndham Vale.

Police have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
