Teen bashed in night of crime

A 13-year-old boy was punched unconscious by a group of youths in Tarneit during a series of crimes committed in the suburb last Wednesday.

Channel Nine news reported that the boy’s father discovered a group of youths in the backyard of his Tarneit home about 11pm. The youths allegedly hit the man’s family members with tree branches and rocks.

The offenders then attacked the man’s 13-year-old son. The victim’s mother said she found her son in “a pool of blood”.

The teen was taken to hospital following the attack and has since been released.

About 11pm on Wednesday, a group of youths also attempted to rob a teenage boy in Finchley Park Crescent, Tarneit.

They made demands for the victim’s property but he ran from the scene.

Hours later, police were called to a house on Harmony Drive in regards to a “disruptive party”.

Police said up to 30 youths were at the property at the time.

While at the house, police arrested a 16-year-old Harkness boy in relation to the attempted robbery in Finchley Park Crescent.

A second 16-year-old male, from Deer Park, was arrested in regards to criminal damage.

Police were again called to Harmony Drive about 9am after reports a group of teenage girls were throwing rocks at cars parked in the street.

Two girls, aged 16, were arrested at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
