Senior driver safety

RoadSafe Westgate Community Road Safety Council will host a free Senior Drivers Expo at Central Park Community Centre, 80 Lonsdale Circuit, Hoppers Crossing from 9.45am on Saturday, June 16. Participants get a free, confidential driving assessment in their own car and a check of their car’s roadworthiness. There will also be information on road laws, health and effects on medicines. Lunch is provided. Places are limited so booking is essential.

Do you have knee pain?

If you are aged over 50 and have had knee pain on most days of the past month, you may be eligible to take part in a new research study conducted by the department of physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne. The study compares the effects of different types of footwear on knee pain symptoms. Participants will be asked to wear study shoes daily for six months. If eligible, you will receive two pairs of shoes for free.

Free bicycle classes for women

Accredited bicycle trainers are running free bike riding classes for women on Friday afternoons from 12.30-3pm until June 22 at the Werribee Men’s Shed, rear of 55- 57a Kookaburra Avenue. Bicycles, helmets and snacks supplied. Please wear enclosed shoes and comfortable clothing.
