Free parenting workshops

Drummond Street Services, Wyndham council and the Wyndham Community and Education Centre are hosting two-hour sessions at Arndell Park Community Centre, 29-49 Federation Boulevard, Truganina, to help mums and dads work together and enjoy the transition to parenthood. For couples from the South Sudanese community, a class will be held on April 28 from 2-4pm, and for African families with babies under the age of one, a class will be held on May 5, from 11am-1pm.

Senior driver safety

RoadSafe Westgate Community Road Safety Council will host a free senior drivers expo at Melton Library and Learning Hub, 31 McKenzie Street, Melton from 9.45am on April 28. Participants get a free, confidential driving assessment in their own car as well as a check of their car’s roadworthiness. There will also be information on road laws, health and effects of medicines. Lunch is provided for free. Places are limited so booking is essential.

Judith’s Biggest Morning Tea

A Biggest Morning Tea will be held to raise funds for the Cancer Council, at The Clubhouse, Point Cook Village, 320 Point Cook Road, Point Cook, on Thursday, May 17, from 10.30am-1.30pm. For a $5 donation, you will be able to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, plus refreshments. All welcome.

Lymphoedema support group

The Western Suburbs Lymphoedema Support Group meets on the first Monday of every month at IPC Health, 117 Warringa Crescent, Hoppers Crossing from 10.30am-noon. The next meeting will be on May 7. The group provides support to help sufferers cope. New members are welcome.
