Picnic in the park

Jubilee estate will host its first pop-up picnic in the park event, running from 6-9pm on November 9 at Jubilee’s Village Park, corner Anniversary Avenue and Stanmore Crescent, Wyndham Vale. There will be food trucks with a selection of delicious dinner options to purchase. Be sure to bring your picnic blankets and get set for a fun-filled evening of free entertainment, with giant games for the kids and the Village Park playground in full swing.

State Rose and Garden Show

The annual State Rose and Garden Show will be held at the Victorian State Rose Garden between 10am-4pm on November 10 and 11. The free event includes plant care demonstrations and talks by some of Australia’s most respected gardening experts. There will also be plenty of kids activities.

Wyndham Anzac Project launch

Come along to the Plaza Library at Pacific Werribee shopping centre at 2pm on November 12 and celebrate the completion of the Anzac Project, an online collection of biographies of Wyndham’s veterans. Meet the dedicated staff and volunteers behind the project.

Mini fete

Head down to Mercy Place Wyndham, 39 Deutgam Street, Werribee, on November 24 from 10am-3pm and enjoy a mini fete featuring a barbecue, plant stall, craft and cake stalls.

Plasma donors needed

The Werribee Blood Donor Centre needs 500 more people to donate plasma in the next four weeks. Plasma can be used in 18 different life-giving ways and with demand for this powerful component of blood growing every year, donations are always needed.

Relax with meditation

Experience serenity and calmness through a 45-minute guided meditation commentary and in a safe comfortable environment on November 16 from 7.30pm at the Derrimut Heath Primary School Community Room in Hoppers Crossing. Enter via the Fernwood Drive Gate. Cost is $5 per person. Bring a mat, blanket/pillow or other props for comfort. Not suitable for children.

Community Welcome Dinner

Get to know your neighbours at the next Community Welcome Dinner, which will celebrate the International Day for Tolerance on November 10 from 6-9pm at Penrose Community Centre, 83 Penrose Promenade, Tarneit. Bring a plate of food to share from your culture. Spaces are limited.

Join the choir

Residents can join the Bridge Community Choir as it starts to prepare carols for the Christmas period. The all-ages, all-abilities choir meets weekly at the Werribee Baptist Church (opposite Werribee Pacific Plaza) on Mondays from 7.30-9pm.
