Rhythm and blues at Point Cook Fiesta

ORGANISERS hope the fourth annual Point Cook Fiesta will strengthen a sense of community for scores of young families moving to the suburb.

Ahead of the October 14 festival, Stockland spokeswoman Lina Maroun said the event was geared towards fostering community among a mix of newer residents.

“A lot of people who move here come from established areas, where there is a sense of an established community . . . the fiesta is about providing an environment to find common ground with each other.”

Street entertainment will include Point Cook musician and Voice contestant Yshrael Pascual, Westmeadows blues outfit Cold Snap, comedy magician Anthony De Masi and circus workshops for children like Odelia, 4 (pictured).

The fiesta is from 11am-5pm at Point Cook Town Centre.
