Two dead in separate road incidents

A PEDESTRIAN and a motorcyclist have died following two incidents on Wyndham’s roads.

A Williams Landing man, 33, was walking with a group of friends along the side of Palmers Road on Friday night when a car struck him near the corner of Sayers Road about 8.45pm.

Advanced life-support paramedics treated the man by the side of the road before he was rushed in a critical condition to The Alfred hospital, where he died.

The driver, a Werribee man, 28, is helping police with their investigations.

Police are also investigating a crash that killed a Hoppers Crossing motorcyclist in Werribee last Wednesday. A motorcycle travelling west on Hoppers Lane and a bus entering Hoppers Lane from the Werribee Sports and Fitness Centre collided about 9.45am. The motorcylist died at the scene.

The male driver of the bus, 60, was not injured and is helping police with their inquiries. There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the collision.

The deaths brought Victoria’s road toll to 199, three fewer than at the corresponding time last year.
