CYCLISTS can access secure parking at Werribee train station after the opening of a bike cage.
The move is designed to encourage people to ride, unclogging roads and freeing up parking spaces at train stations.
Western Metropolitan Liberal MP Andrew Elsbury said the cage held 26 bikes, with electronic swipe cards used to open the door.
Cages have been built at 55 stations since 2009. Four more cages will be added to Melbourne’s public transport network by December.
