WHEN the modifications were made to the boat ramp at Werribee South no mention
was made of jet skis launching there. The addition of jet skis simply makes it
too dangerous for a disabled kayaker to launch at weekends. If the council is
“working on making the beach accessible for all residents” then what is the
plan? The foreshore of Port Phillip Bay is the biggest recreational asset that
Wyndham Council has and it has been neglected for too long. We need an
accessible safe swimming area for all residents and now is the time to create
one. The area around the current jet ski ramp would be ideal. I am sure the ramp
and surrounding area with some planning and forethought to be made to comply.
