POINT Cook seniors are being invited to join in the fun with Le-Petrel Mauritian Seniors Club members like Noelie Bephage.
The club was formed in February in a bid to boost social activities for older residents. President Lindsay Lefebure said what started with himself, his wife and two friends soon swelled to a group of 47 members who meet at Featherbrook Community Centre each Wednesday afternoon.
“We all live in Point Cook, we’re all over 65, and we do sing-songs, play bingo, dominoes and have get-togethers with music from the ’50s, snacks and a bit of vino [wine],” he said. “It’s not only Mauritians. We accept anybody that wants to join us.”
