POINT Cook’s first venture into the Victorian Amateur Football Association division 4 finals was a short-lived affair.
The Bulldogs were at the mercy of the Eley Park Sharks in a 66-point first semi-final loss WA Scammell Reserve on Saturday.
The Sharks piled on a massive 51 scoring shots to 25 in the free-flowing game and only inaccuracy in front of goal stopped them inflicting an even heavier beating.
Mark Pozzuto, Jordan Lampi and Andrew Auciello fought hard for the Doggies throughout the four quarters.
Ricky Munn and Aaron Marsh had the Midas touch in attack with three goals apiece.
The Bulldogs can be proud of their efforts to reach the finals under coach Daniel Fraser in just their third season of senior football.
