Point Cook: Pair in hospital after house fire

A WOMAN suffered cuts and bruising after smashing a window to escape a house fire in Point Cook this morning.

Fire crews were called to the blaze on the corner of Catalina Court and Neptune Drive about 5.50am.

Paramedics treated the woman and a man, both in their 30s, for smoke inhalation.

CFA spokesman Sean Kennedy said the blaze, which started in the rear of the single-storey house, took 40 minutes to bring under control.

The pair were taken to the Western Hospital and are in a stable condition.
