WYNDHAM’S support of the Around the Bay charity ride has been recognised by Bicycle Network Victoria.
Last week, the organisation’s Nicola Bowring (pictured) presented deputy mayor Glenn Goodfellow with a wheel from a ‘bay bike’.
Parts of the bike have been distributed to various regional cities that have supported the fund-raising ride over the past 20 years.
The bike will be reassembled at the start of this year’s event and displayed in Melbourne’s Alexandra Gardens from October 19-21.
Event manager Michael Russell says Wyndham has produced 942 riders since 1992.
He’s encouraging more residents to take part this year to celebrate the event’s 20th anniversary. Details: aroundthebayfundraising.com.au.
