REFUGEES had a chance to shine and celebrate Wyndham’s diverse mix of cultures at a refugee week festival at the Wyndham Leisure and Events Centre last Thursday.
The event included performances by African Star, the Victoria Police Band and students from Woodville Primary School and Galvin Park Secondary School.
Refugee Council of Australia representative Melika Sheikh-Eldin signed a ‘refugee welcome zone’ pledge which highlights Wyndham’s commitment to making refugees feel part of the community.
