The cost of the Wyndham Leisure and Events Centre redevelopment has increased by more than $600,000 to $61.92million. The increase is the result of a decision to add to the gym’s floor space as part of final plans for the centre. Cr Marcel Mahfoud said the completion of the designs meant the council was ready to begin work on the centre as soon as external funding was sourced. The council hopes to find out next month if its funding application to the Regional Development Australia has been successful.
