Services were cancelled after a fire broke out under the carriage of a train at Werribee station on Monday morning.
The fire, spotted just after 8.20am, disrupted peak-hour services.
Metro was forced to cancel trains on the line for about 20 minutes while Werribee CFA extinguished
the blaze.
Two platforms were closed as a precaution.
