Point Cook’s newest sporting precinct at Saltwater Reserve is closer to construction with a $3.47million landscaping contract awarded last week.
Wyndham mayor Kim McAliney said the project included more than 2500 plants to filter stormwater run-off, trees, grass, paths and play facilities including basketball courts and a climbing wall.
“At 22hectares, Saltwater Reserve is the equivalent of 11 MCGs, which means a great deal of work needs to be done to bring the seven sporting fields and three pavilions together.”
Work will be completed mid-2013.
