WYNDHAM mayor Kim McAliney and Werribee police’s Leading Senior Constable Colin Eddy (pictured) are urging residents to make May 25 a fatality free day on the municipality’s roads.
The council has already signed the Fatality Free Friday pledge, vowing to do all it can to ensure there are zero fatalities on Wyndham’s roads for one day. More than 30,000 people have signed the nationwide pledge. Cr McAliney said everyone had a role to play in reducing the road toll.
“While regular road users may see bad driving examples every day, it’s important we recognise where we could improve our own driving habits by being more patient, reducing our speed or setting better examples for our children.”
