COMMUNITY TV station C31 has launched a
rebrand with the slogan, ‘We are Melbourne and Geelong’, and as part of that, commissioned a survey that found Melburnians have a strong passion for their communities and landmarks.
In Wyndham, residents rated the Werribee Open Range Zoo as the area’s most popular icon, followed by Werribee South beach and the Victoria State Rose Garden. Werribee’s Emily Gates, 22, (pictured) is the producer of anthology series This Terrifying Ordeal.
She reckons the rose garden is Werribee’s true hidden gem. “I had my 21st birthday there, you’ve gotta love it.
Werribee’s so rich with things to do, and it’s been a great place to grow up.”
Seventy per cent of respondents said they spent a lot of time socialising in their area, while almost three-quarters of respondents read their local newspaper. C31 broadcasts on digital channel 44 across Melbourne and Geelong.
