WYNDHAM residents are being reminded to ensure homes are secure, even if under construction, with six reported burglaries in four days.
The burglaries were at Wyndham Vale properties between April 26 and 30.
Werribee police are appealing for help to find those responsible.
The first two burglaries were in Milton Drive and Juliana Avenue between noon and 9.40pm, on April 26.
Jewellery was stolen from each house and police believe offenders entered via a bedroom window.
Four houses under construction were broken into between April 27 and 30.
Blinds were stolen from a house in Townsend Street, while shower roses, flooring and downlights were taken from a Yarrambat Street property.
Police believe offenders entered each house via the garage.
In Federal Drive, cabinets were removed from above a fridge cavity in a house, damaging the plaster.
The latest reported break-in was in Chapman Drive where overhead cabinets in the kitchen were taken.
Police said it was possible both houses were entered using a trade key given there were no signs of forced entry.
Werribee’s Sergeant Patrick Spezza said people should be vigilant with their home security, and ensure that all doors and windows were locked when not at home.
He said it was useful to have adequate lighting around the house and to leave no objects in the garden which could be used to break in.
Sergeant Spezza said there was a high number of burglaries in houses under construction because often there were no neighbours.
