Truganina potholes put drivers ‘at risk’

A TARNEIT resident wants Wyndham Council to make sealing Truganina’s Marquands Road a priority.

David Idda (pictured), who uses Marquands Road to take his son to school at Westbourne Grammar, said the road had become unsafe for drivers.

Last Thursday, Mr Idda contacted the council to demand something be done about the road, which turned to mud following heavy rain last Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

He described the road conditions as “diabolical”, saying it was riddled with pot holes that drivers had to zig-zag around to avoid damaging cars. The council closed the road last Thursday afternoon.

Mr Idda said the council had told him six years ago that the road would be sealed once developer contributions were received. He has since been told that the developer went broke.

“The council has done nothing. They need to make the road a priority,” Mr Idda said.
