CFA firefighters like Brooke Simon will be rattling collection tins and knocking on doors in Point Cook, Seabrook, Sanctuary Lakes and Werribee South next week for the Good Friday Appeal.
Collectors are aiming to raise at least $20,000 in the annual appeal with all money going to the Royal Children’s Hospital. Point Cook CFA’s Michael Piscopo says the cause has significant meaning to him, as his son suffered third-degree burns and was cared for at the hospital.
“The appeal ensures all children with life-threatening illnesses receive the best possible clinical and medical care.”
“People in the Wyndham and Point Cook areas are very supportive.” Residents are being urged to support the cause and volunteer as collectors.
Fireys will be collecting at Point Cook Town Centre and Sanctuary Lakes shopping centre on Easter Thursday and door-knocking on Good Friday. Details: pointcookcfa.org.au.
