WRFL: Glenorden Hawks a big draw

GLENORDEN takes flight for the first time under new coach Nick Diker on Saturday when the Western Region Football League division 2 season kicks off.

With just three other WRFL games on the menu for week one, including last year’s runners up Albanvale hosting North Sunshine, West Footscray entertaining Caroline Springs and Laverton Magpies meeting Braybrook, the new-look Hawks are expected to pull a big crowd to the Heathdale Oval for the clash with Coburg Districts.

Wyndhamvale has the bye in the opening round and will not play until April 14.

Hoppers Crossing are in the same boat with their division 1 campaign starting after Easter.
