WYNDHAM mayor Kim McAliney and Relay for Life chairwoman Anne-Marie Dey (pictured) are warming up for next month’s cancer fund-raiser at Victoria University’s athletics track in Hoppers Lane.
The event patron, Cr McAliney has selected the relay as this year’s mayoral charity event.
She said one of the most moving aspects of the annual relay was the survivors’ walk and candlelight ceremony, which honoured those who had battled cancer.
“This event grows each year and the organising committee for the Wyndham Relay for Life are to be congratulated for hosting such a successful and important event.
Their hard work … is a great example of community spirit being used for a greater good.”
