HISTORY buffs and researchers can find out about life in Wyndham more than 60 years ago now that old Werribee Banner newspapers have been digitally archived.
Wyndham Council’s library service nominated the paper for Public Libraries Victoria’s ‘Digitalising Victoria’ newspaper project.
Library staff have finished scanning every story from the 1911-1952 editions of the Banner into the National Library’s newspaper database.
Cr Adele De Crescenzo (pictured) said the digital archive would make it easier for people to search for old stories or information about Wyndham.
“The archive allows people to enter a search term which will look through all digitised issues – no more thumbing through hundreds of pages for an elusive article.”
