Calls to arms for Werribee students with army cadet corp

Werribee Secondary College has become the third Victorian government school to have an army cadet unit.

The unit was recently presented to Lalor MP and Prime Minister Julia Gillard, who reviewed the cadets in their inaugural commemorative parade.

Unit commander Lieutenant Allan Sterling said it was a significant event because it was the first time in 15 years a unit had been created in a Victorian school.

Ms Gillard congratulated the school and Lieutenant Sterling for working to establish the unit over the past five years.
