WYNDHAM residents can take a behind-the-scenes look at Werribee police station this weekend.
Wyndham’s busiest station will be open to the public on Sunday, and people can meet local officers.
Station tours will be conducted every hour from noon-2pm, and give people access to the station’s cells, intelligence room and fingerprint room.
Community liaison officer, Leading Senior Constable Tracey Ogle, expects people to be surprised by what they see. “It’s not like on TV but that is probably what people are expecting.”
A highway patrol car and divisional van will be on display outside the station. Children will be able to dress up in uniforms and ride in mini police cars. The station will open from 11am-3pm.
