Driver on air base charges
A Point Cook woman is facing four charges after allegedly driving through a security gate at the Royal Australian Air Force Base at Point Cook. It is alleged the woman, 43, drove through the gates of the base after failing to negotiate a bend properly. Police said numerous units, including the dog squad, were called to the base about 9.45pm on Sunday. The woman was found a kilometre from her car following a search of the base. She was taken into custody and charged with criminal damage, trespass on Commonwealth land and careless driving. She also allegedly returned a positive breath test of .076 and was charged with drink- driving.

Bad role model
A drink-driver supervising a learner driver has been caught by police following an automatic number plate recognition operation on Sunday and Monday. The man was stopped by police on Sayers Road, Tarneit, on Sunday and returned a blood-alcohol reading of .021. He had his licence suspended immediately as those teaching driving are required to have a blood-alcohol reading of zero. The operation moved to the Princes Highway on Monday.
