Laverton North company hopes for a most palatable prize

Laverton North company Export Pallets hopes that entering this year’s Wyndham Business Awards will provide its staff with long overdue recognition.

The company, which makes pallets for export and distribution around Australia, has been based at Laverton North for more than 15 years.

It’s entering the business awards for the first time this year, nominating in the manufacturing category.

Administrator Carly Nielsen said she hoped the awards would shed a light on the hard work done by the company’s staff.

“They deserve some recognition,” she said. “They work as a team and everyone is happy to come to work… everyone works wells together.”

Ms Nielsen also hopes the awards will help with plans to expand the business, which started out providing pallets for exporting animal skins but has since grown to service different industries, including food and agriculture.

This year’s awards, on August 28, are open to registered businesses in Wyndham. Categories are tourism and hospitality, franchise, home-based, manufacturing, not-for-profit, retail, service, new and emerging, and transport and storage.

Awards will also be presented to the business of the year and businessperson of the year.

Entries close on June 26.
