Wyndham Netball Association wants more players, including boys, for its spring season starting in July. With the opening of Eagle Stadium, netballers now have access to more courts for more games and competitions. If you’re aged seven or older and would like to

Art exhibition

The Wyndham Art Prize exhibition is open at Wyndham Cultural Centre until June 28. The exhibition showcases local, national and international artists and will be judged by McClelland Galleries’ senior curator, Penny Teale.

Senior drivers’ expo

RoadSafe Westgate Community Road Safety Council will host a senior drivers’ expo from 9.45am on June 13 at Hobsons Bay council offices, Altona. Participants get a free, confidential driving assessment in their own car and an assessment of their car’s roadworthiness. There will also be information about road laws, health and the effects of medicines. Places are limited so booking is essential. Lunch is free.

Improve your delivery

The Werribee Rostrum Club meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at the Werribee Masonic Hall, corner Greaves Street South and Watton Street, Werribee, from 7.30-8.30pm. In a friendly environment, the group supports members to improve their public speaking, communication, leadership and meeting skills.

Fix it, for free

If it needs screwing, glueing, nailing or welding, bring it to Werribee Men’s Shed, open every second Saturday. The service is free and there’s no need to book. If the item is too large to fit into a car, call James at Wyndham Park Community Centre between 10am and noon.

Time for a ball

It’s time to air out the frocks and dust off the ‘bags of fruit’ [aka suits] for Wyndham council’s Winter Ball. Open to young people aged 12-17, the ball will be held this Friday, 6-9pm, at the Youth Resource Centre at Hoppers Crossing. Prizes will be awarded for ‘best dressed’. Entry is $2. Food and drink provided.

Make-a-thon

Indulge your creative side with an arts and crafts afternoon on June 13 at Arndell Park Community Centre, 29 Federation Boulevard, Truganina, from 1-4pm. No special skills are required; just bring along your imagination. Materials will be provided. Bookings are essential. Cost is $5.
