A bomb scare shut down the streets surrounding Tarneit police station on Thursday afternoon, after a car reversed into the station’s car park.
Nearby homes were evacuated about 1.30pm as the bomb squad searched the vehicle in Wyndham North.
But police have since given the all clear and deemed the area safe.
A 27-year-old Hoppers Crossing man was arrested after he reversed into the secure car park of Tarneit police station while a delivery was being made.
The police station and nearby homes were evacuated while the Bomb Response Unit conducted “precautionary safety checks” on the car.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Nolan said there had been no threats made.
