Tax phone scam
Police are warning Wyndham residents to beware of cold calls from people purporting to be from the Australian Tax Office. They tell their victim they have an outstanding tax debt or that they fraudulently or incorrectly filled out their tax return. In each reported case, the caller threatened the victim with legal action if they did not pay immediately. People from Wyndham, Sunshine and Glen Waverley have been targeted to date. Feedback on Distributor
Transurban wants feedback from Wyndham residents about the proposed Western Distributor. Transurban has sent a proposal to the state government for the distributor, which would provide an alternative to the West Gate Bridge and relieve congestion on the M1 freeway. Details: bit.ly/1dWynmL

Travel app a winner
Wyndham council’s geographic information systems team won the 2015 Excellence in eGovernment Award (GeoSpatial Category) at the recent ICT awards for its iTunes-based Travel Diary iOS app, which maps the types of transport Wyndham residents use.
