RSPCA Million Paws Walk

Give your pooch a treat by taking him or her to the RSPCA Million Paws Walk at Presidents Park, McGrath Road, Wyndham Vale, from 9am on Sunday, May 17. Tickets are $17 for adults, $10 for kids and $27 for a family of four. Funds raised will go towards RSPCA programs, adoption and vet services.

Mums and bubs movie sessions

Mums, dads, grandparents, uncles, aunties and carers with pre-school kids can catch a special mums and bubs movie session at Wyndham Cultural Centre, 177 Watton Street, Werribee, on May 29 at 11am. The movie My Year Without Sex will be screening. Tickets are $10 and include morning tea.

Relay for Life candlelight vigil

The Wyndham Relay for Life committee will host a candlelight ceremony to honour loved ones, cancer survivors and carers at the Italian Sports Club of Werribee, 601 Heaths Road, Werribee, from 7pm on Saturday, May 16. Light snacks, drinks, battery-operated candles and other merchandise will be available for purchase.

Senior drivers’ expo

The RoadSafe Westgate Community Road Safety Council will host a senior drivers expo at Hobsons Bay Council Civic Offices, 115 Civic Parade, Altona, on June 13 from 9.45am. Participants will get a free and confidential driving assessment in their own car, and an assessment of their car’s roadworthiness. There will also be information about road laws, health, and the effects of medicines. A free lunch is provided. Places are limited and bookings are essential.

Art exhibition

The Wyndham Art Prize is up for grabs at Wyndham Cultural Centre, 177 Watton Street, Werribee, from May 24-28. The exhibition showcases local, national and international artists and will be judged by McClelland Galleries senior curator Penny Teale.

If it needs to be screwed, glued, nailed or welded, bring it to Werribee Men’s Shed, open every second Saturday. It’s free and there’s no need to book. If the item is too large to fit in a car, call James at Wyndham Park Community centre, 55-57 Kookaburra Avenue, Werribee, from 10am noon.

May fete

Support Heathglen Retirement Village at its May Fete at 70/2 Glendale Court, Werribee, from 10am-2pm on Saturday, May 16. There will be stalls selling plants and cakes, Devonshire teas and raffle tickets, as well as a sausage sizzle.

Learn Maltese

Learn the Maltese language at classes held at Kelly Park Community Centre in Synnot Street, Werribee. Classes are held from 6.30-8.30pm every Monday. There are classes for both adults and beginners.
