Hospital fund-raiser
Children can try yoga, ballet, music, exercise classes, cookie decorating and more while raising money for the Good Friday Appeal at a Come and Try Activity Day on April 2 from 9.30-11.30am at Arndell Park Community Centre, 29-49 Federation Boulevard, Truganina. Gold coin donation for each activity. All money raised goes to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Egg hunt
There will be plenty of delicious surprises on offer when the Italian Social Club of Werribee hosts an Easter egg hunt at Galvin Park Reserve, Shaws Road, Werribee on April 4 from 10am-2pm. Starting times for the hunt vary according to age, with children up to 12 eligible to take part. Other entertainment will include plaster painting, jumping castle, dancing, music and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Tickets: Adults $18, children (4-12) $10, children under 3 are free. Bookings essential.

Active kids
Wyndham council’s Active Kids holiday program is a fun way to encourage healthy eating habits and increased physical activity in children aged 8-10 years. Try baseball on April 8 from 10.30am-noon and hockey on April 9 from 2-4pm at Presidents Park, McGrath Road, Wyndham Vale or Tarneit Auskick at Wootten Road Reserve on April 19 at 10am.

Get it fixed
If it needs to be screwed, glued, nailed or welded, bring it to Werribee Men’s Shed, open every second Saturday of the month. It’s free and there’s no need to book. If the item is too large to fit in a car, call James. From 10am-noon at the shed at Wyndham Park Community Centre, 55-57 Kookaburra Avenue, Werribee.

Remember the sixties
Go on a journey to the swinging sixties when The Fabulous Singlettes hit the stage at the Wyndham Cultural Centre on April 10. The show combines impeccable harmonies, outrageous humour and glamorous fashion in a celebration of a decade that changed the world. Covering the great girl groups of the era and supported by a four-piece band, the show will take you on a journey through the music and fashion of the sixties, with several costume and hair-do changes, culminating in a blistering finale. Tickets are $45 for adults, $25 for under 25s and $15 for students.
Comedy festival
Be prepared for laughs aplenty when the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow arrives in Wyndham on April 25. Comedians Bob Franklin, Tom Ballard, Greg Behrendt and David Quick will be among those taking to the stage at the Wyndham Cultural Centre as part of the nationwide tour. It’s on from 8pm. Tickets cost $33 for adults, $19 for under 25s and $15 for school children. Concession card holders and groups of 10 or more can book tickets for $25.
