CFA crews take to the streets for Good Friday Appeal

Firefighters and volunteers across Wyndham will be hitting the streets next month to raise money for the Good Friday Appeal.

Point Cook, Werribee and Wyndham Vale CFAs have signed up to be part of the appeal by collecting money for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Werribee CFA’s First Lieutenant Darryl Wells said the brigade had been involved in the appeal for 30 years, while Wyndham Vale had been lending a hand for three years. Last year the two brigades raised $70,000.

Point Cook CFA has been raising money for the hospital for 13 years, with more than $30,000 collected in 2014.

All three brigades are calling for more volunteers to help with the collection on April 3.

The Point Cook CFA will be collecting money in the Point Cook, Sanctuary Lakes and Seabrook areas, while volunteers from Werribee and Wyndham Vale will be focusing on those areas.

The collections will be co-ordinated from the Point Cook and Werribee stations. Volunteers will be transported by shuttle bus to key collection areas.

Point Cook CFA’s Bree Nesbitt urged residents who are unable to help collect money to give generously to the appeal.
