Caring for fruit trees

Horticulturist Craig Castree will be at Werribee Park heritage orchard at K Road, Werribee South, from 9.45am every Friday until March 27 to give hints on grafting, pruning and fungal control. Bring a hat, sunscreen and secateurs. Enter by gate 2 and follow the signs.

Senior drivers’ expo

Roadsafe Westgate Community Road Safety Council will hold a Senior Drivers’ Expo in Altona on Saturday. Information will be given about road laws, health and the effects of medicines on driving. Everyone taking part will get a free roadworthy and safety assessment of their car. Bookings are essential.

Junior footy

Tarneit Auskick will hold its annual family day at Wootten Road Reserve, Wootten Road, Tarneit, on Sunday from 11am-3pm. There’ll be live bands, jumping castles, face-painting, magicians and an appearance by former Sydney Swans player Warwick Capper.

Trivia night

Werribee Lions Club will host a trivia night from 6.30-10pm on March 21 at Central Park Community Centre, 80 Lonsdale Circuit, Hoppers Crossing. From prizes
and raffles, proceeds go to the Australia Lions Children’s Mobility Foundation. Tickets are $20 per person or $15 each for a table of eight. BYO supper.

Classic cars

View an incredible display of vintage cars and motorbikes, trade and market stalls and plenty of children’s entertainment, including face-painting and a jumping castle, at the Werribee and District Collectible Vehicle Club’s Show ‘N’ Shine on March 22 from 9am-3pm at Mossfiel Reserve, Heaths Road, Hoppers Crossing. If it needs to be screwed, glued, nailed or welded, bring it to Werribee Men’s Shed, open every second Saturday of the month. It’s free and there’s no need to book. If the item is too large to fit in a car, call James. From 10am-noon at the shed at Wyndham Park Community Centre, 55-57 Kookaburra Drive, Werribee.
