Tens of thousands of people attended the Australian International Airshow at Avalon Airport at the weekend.

The weather gods were reasonably kind to airshow goers and organisers on all three days. Forecast strong winds and rain stayed away during the displays on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but overnight rain created a quagmire along parts of the crowdline on Sunday.

Highlights included the RAAF Roulettes and Australian Defence Force showcase featuring aircraft including RAAF F/A-18F Super Hornets, C-17 Globemaster III and C-130J Hercules aircraft and the incredibly agile Australian Army Tiger attack helicopters in a simulated battle which also featured Army paratroopers and RAAF airfield defence guards.
