Werribee faces a steep run chase on the second day of its double-edged clash with Ivanhoe in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association north-west group at Chirnside Park on Saturday.
The Tigers will set off in search of 246 knowing victory will strengthen their bid for a finals spot and just about eliminate Ivanhoe from the chasing pack.
Ivanhoe batted out its full 80 overs to post a score for its bowlers to defend.
Young spinner Tom Duxson was the pick of the Tigers’ bowlers with 4-80 off 19.
Duxson has enjoyed a breakout summer and appears to be getting better as the season progresses.
He has taken 10 wickets, including seven in the past two outings, for an average of 29.5.
Tim O’Brien was also effective for the Tigers with 3-47 off 17.
